 Extending for over a mile along the Ohio River, Fernbank Park comprises over 58 acres. The park offers a footpath, a field ideal for impromptu games, a stone picnic shelter and baseball diamond. In March, the Hamilton County Park District and the Cincinnati Park Board signed a cooperative commitment to improve Fernbank Park. This partnership enables the Hamilton County Park District to contribute approximately $2.7 million in park enhancements, in addition to assuming the operation, maintenance and Ranger patrol of Fernbank Park. Proposed enhancement projects include improved roads, parking areas, walkways, trails, picnic shelters and an upgraded playground. During construction, the availability of exisiting facilities may be impacted. On March 29, 2004 a groundbreaking ceremony began the start of Phase One enhancements including:
The first phase of improvements to Fernbank Park have been completed, including the renovation of the picnic shelter and the construction of an interactive, educational playground, a new restroom building and expanded, paved parking. Phase Two improvements for 2005 to include the completion of paved park road and parking improvements, new paved multi-purpose trail, two new non-reservable picnic shelters, interpretive and information signs and various other site improvements. A 1,027 acre park located on Lawrenceburg Road. The park has many artifacts and overlooks of the Ohio and Miami Valley. It also includes an 18-hole golf course, picnic areas, playgrounds, boat ramp, museum, log cabin and trails. The third largest in the district with 1,329 acres. Located on Zion Road at Buffalo Ridge.
